Gabe T. Tsampalieros, was honoured in 2006 with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Gabe is the Chairman of the Board and Owner of the Dinecorp Group of Companies, and Chairman of the Board for The Second Cup Ltd.

Klaus D. Tenter, was honoured in 2003 with his Lifetime Achievement Award. Klaus was the General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto. Klaus is now the the COO and President of the new Hazelton Hotel in Toronto.

J. Charles Grieco, was honoured, and to the thrill of the audience at the Gala, was very suprised, to be honoured with his Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. Charles is the Chair and President of the Ontario Hostelry Institute. On June 10, 2008 Charles was awarded an Honourary Degree in Hospitality Management by the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College.

Rigzin Dolkar, In recognition of more than 25 years of passion and dedication in her role as Executive Director, essential to the growth and development of the Ontario Hostelry Institute and its mandated work on behalf of the culinary, hospitality and tourism industries, as well as the professional education and training necessary to the development of life-long hospitality careers - and latterly directing the OHI’s management of the Canadian Hospitality Foundation - that has helped shape Ontario and Canada’s modern hospitality industry and will continue to influence its future.

Michael Beckley, In recognition of his dedication and passion for the hospitality, lodging and accommodation industry and to the men and women who have helped to shape Canada’s world-class facilities and in addition for your continuous support of their professional training, executive and management education both within our Colleges and Universities, and within the industry’s environment while tangibly leading a campaign to ensure the modernization of one of Canada’s foremost hospitality and culinary facilities.

Donna Dooher, In recognition of her dedication and passion for the culinary and hospitality world, and your personal creative role in it, and to the men and women who have helped to shape Canada’s world-class dining facilities and in particular for your continuous support of their professional training, executive and management education both within our Colleges and Universities; and within the industry’s environment while; tangibly leading a campaign to ensure the modernization of one of Canada’s foremost culinary and hospitality facilities.

Jamie Kennedy,  In recognition of more than 35 years of passion and dedication as a professional chef, and as a champion of our hospitality world; and the use of locally sourced organic and artisanal products so essential to the growth and development of today's culinary environment; as well as your role in supporting professional education and training necessary to the development of life-long culinary and hospitality careers - a career that has helped shape Ontario and Canada's modern hospitality industry and will continue to influence it's future.

John Walker MBA, In recognition of your years of passion, dedication an innovation in your role as Dean and champion of the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Atrs, at George Brown College.  As well as your leadership and mentorship in the world of professional education and training so necessary to the success and development of life-long culinary, hospitality and tourism careers.  You have helped shape Ontario and Canada's modern hospitality industry and will continue to influence it's future in the coming years.

Anita Stewart C.M. LLD., In recognition of your dedication and passion for the world of Canadian food and hospitality, and your personally creative role in it. For your contributions as a food journalist, author and a culinary activist and for your promotion of the local and regional food industry throughout Canada. You are one of very few people who understands our food and its smallest local nuances. Recipient of the Order of Canada, with a motto that suits Anita well: DESIDERANTES MELIOREM PATRIAM   “They desire a better country”

Alison Fryer B.A.B. (Hon), In recognition of your 31 years of dedication and commitment to the building a ‘hub’ for the culinary communityfocused on the printed word, with customers, authors, chefs, culinarians and suppliers, under the umbrella of The Cookbook Store, as well as your timeless outreach to all of these while bringing food and cooking, the love of wine and all aspects of hospitality to the forefront of our daily lives. 

Mitch Kostuch (posthumously) President Kostuch Media, While recognizing that our hospitality and foodservice world lost one of its true icons with the passing of Mitch Kostuch, President and Group Publisher of Foodservice and Hospitality and Hotelier magazines, The Ontario Hostelry Institute honors and acknowledges his extraordinary body of work and the real contributions of Mitch Kostuch with this OHI Gold Award Lifetime Achievement Award.
